The People of the Ice Whale is a feature-length documentary film produced as a collaboration between Tommy’s Dog [Tom Pillifant] and Peak 3 for the Alaska Eskimo Whaling Comission. The film presents a look inside the lives of the Inupiaq people who live on Alaska’s northern coast and the critical connection between them and the bowhead whale; A primary food source they have hunted sustainability for centuries. Featuring interviews with native subsistence hunters, marine biologists, and never before seen aerial perspectives of this frozen landscape.
